Dustin Griess has resigned from his position as Application Developer II with Quality Bicycle Products. Words will never explain what QBP has done for me over the past 5-6 years, professionally and personally. I look forward to continuing our positive relationship.

My 5 month leave from QBP is about to end, so I took my boss (Dick West – IT Director) out to lunch & told him the good news ;) He told me  I have a small window of opportunity (considering where I am right now in life), and eventually it’ll be gone. I had an hour meeting with our owner Steve as well, and honestly, I can not tell you how supportive everyone has been. I love QBP. If I keep working full time for the man, Steve is the man, but for now I need to try being a man for a bit ;)

Dustin Griess has taken an extended Leave of Absence from Quality Bicycle Products. After 5+ years, this has been one of the most difficult decisions of my life, I fricken cried on my way home lol see you in November. I’ll be riding bikes.

So last Friday during the ASA event in Chicago someone called QBP claiming to be me… I was “in LA for a photoshoot, the airlines lost my bag, money, cell phone, and my grandmother died” so they wanted QBP to wire cash to some random name in LA through Western Union. SOMEHOW they got QBP to buy into it and they fricken sent money. I came back on Monday and everyone was like “Are you okay?? What happened??” I was clueless. First of all, why would I call my workplace for money?? lol no one called my parents, no one tried calling my cell phone, my brother was fricken working in IT at the time. lol seriously. Ask me a Q-Net or programming question hahh trying to figure everything out, then Todd Johnson mentioned hearing something about a similar situation that happened to Matt Coplon from Profile… Here’s the response I got from Matt: “When the dude called me, I believe he had a slight accent and he claimed to be “Ty Stuyvesant–a rider on our skateboard team.” I got the call and ended up hanging up on him. He was asking for the same deal–a wire transfer to the LA airport. What a scumbag.” I wonder if these have any ties to ASA? You wouldn’t think so but its something to think about if it happened to more than one person who were at the same event. QBP has call records of everything that happened. We’re digging into it…

After a long story, I substituted my standard QBP chair for a lazy boy… Talk about productivity! I’ve been able to sleep more than ever!

I believe this started as a prank in Adam’s cube when he was out of the office, which then moved into Damians cube when he was out of the office, which then moved into my cube when I was in the office. lol

Yes I buy my riding shoes at Target for $19.99. But when there is a sale and I can get good shoes “beloe” that price, you may or may not see a large order come through from Dustin Griess ;) I love my bright white trainers.

BMX Plus printed a huge multi page story about our team on Mega Tour in NYC this past September. “No longer lost, Dustin Griess makes up for lost time with a manual to whip at yet another landmark street spot.” lol

QBP is more supportive to bringing your dog to work than your company will ever be… Benny lays where he wants, on the keyboard, mouse, in front of my monitor.. Speaking of monitor, 30″!! Benny, meet Sasquatch…
